Camping site information

Buffalo Camp is our biggest camping site. The camping site consists of two camping areas, which are linked with a short path through the bush. In the main camping area, as seen in the pictures above, about 6 or 7 vehicles will fit depending on the sizes of the vehicles. The second area is right next to the main camping area, and has a separate entrance for the vehicles. Here, about 4 vehicles will fit easily. Since it is exclusive, only one group can book at a time. This camp has a minimum of 4 adults per night.

With this camp being right next to the water, you can enjoy activities such as swimming or canoeing (please bring your own canoe). You can see the river from the camping site and can follow a 20m trail to reach the water. Those who wish to relax at the camp, will definitely experience the abundant wildlife at this camp. Be on the lookout for Buffalo, Nyala, Impala, and even a genet or civet, who might pass by.

The boma with a fire pit, is situated towards to side of the camp. It is slightly raised, which gives you a beautiful view of the camp and the large Weeping Boerbeen tree.

Both the shower and toilet are in separate cubicles, at the back of the kitchenette. Although there is no electricity at the camp, there is a donkey/wood-fired water heater for those lovely hot showers, as well as for the kitchenette. Limited wood is provided and included in the rate. More wood can be purchased on the farm. We also sell ice at reception.

To create a cozy atmosphere at the boma, you can switch on the solar powered bulbs. There are also solar powered lights in the kitchenette and ablution.

Amenities

  • No, there is no signal or electricity at Buffalo Camp.

  • A high clearance 4x4 vehicle is recommended.

  • Click on the ‘Book now’ button. Complete and submit the form. Someone from our team will send you an email, informing you on the availability. Should the camp be available, you will receive an invoice. To secure your booking, you will be required to pay the deposit (50%) within 7 days of receiving your invoice.

  • If you cancel your booking more than 1 month before arrival, we will refund 50% of the deposit.

    If you cancel your booking more than 2 weeks (and less than 1 month) before arrival, we will refund 25% of the deposit.

    If you cancel your booking less than 2 weeks before arrival, we will not refund your deposit.
